Experience

Freelance Crystal Reports Consultant, 11/06 - present

Working with Crystal Reports versions 7 through XI and 2008. Analyze client reporting requirements. Create and modify reports based on analysis and final client requirements. Answer client questions on report and application problems. Work with a variety of databases including MS SQL Server, Oracle, and MS Access. Create and modify queries and stored procedures for use as data sources for the reports.

US Census Enumerator 04/10 – 10/10

Worked several phases of the US Census. Interviewed residents in person and on the phone to determine status of housing unit on 1 April 2010. Documented interviews on paper and computer forms. Served as team leader assistant performing tasks as assigned by the team leader.

Modern Technologies Corporation; Senior Experiment Manager, 7/04 – 9/06

Wrote plans detailing the requirements for demonstrations and experiments. Plans included hardware configuration, software setup and installation, steps to be taken during the experiment, and expected results. Designed, configured, and installed a demonstration capability for the Experimental Planning Lab consisting of six dual-monitor computers, two large projection systems, and a video switch allowing display of any monitor on either screen. Designed and implemented a hardware configuration management database to help track the lab computer systems and related hardware. Developed and administered the EPL web pages using Microsoft Front Page and Sharepoint.

Modern Technologies Corporation; Senior Database Analyst, 9/99 – 7/04

Database engineer, developer, and administrator for STRATCOM program management databases created with MS Access, Visual Basic 6.0, MS SQL Server 7.0, and Crystal Reports 8.0. Designed and developed over 100 reports providing critical information to program and project managers. Analyzed user requests to derive functional requirements and reporting criteria. Designed, implemented and tested the software to present the reports allowing viewing on screen, printing, and export to a variety of formats.

Modern Technologies Corporation; Senior Functional Analyst, 4/95 – 9/99

Lead technical analyst for the Air Vehicle and Quality Review Integrated Product Teams. Provided technical evaluations of proposed hardware and software solutions. Developed a system-access and permissions database to reduce errors and speed creation of user accounts. Developed software and tool inventory databases to aid development of a master modernization schedule.

University of Nebraska at Omaha: Computer Science Instructor, 10/95 – 6/99

Taught computer programming courses using Pascal and C++. Taught courses programming theory and language comparison.

USAF, USSTRATCOM/J674; Software Engineering Instructor, 3/94 - 3/95

Developed and presented courses in software engineering and project management. Emphasized the need for repeatable processes and standards for software development. Redesigned the Fundamentals of Software Engineering and Software Project Management courses incorporating new material on software inspections, process improvement, and the Software Engineering Institute's Capability Maturity Model.
