Question

"Server has not yet been opened" error

Rating9.4Excellent

I urgently need assistance with regards to crystal reports version 8.0.
We have an application written in VB6 with a Crystal report viewer control used to preview various reports. Apparently the database driver being used is p2smon.dll. The report gets its data from an Access 2.0 database (yes, ancient stuff indeed).
On some machines the app is installed on, when previewing the report the error "Server has not yet been opened" comes up from the viewer control; on some machines it works fine. Which seems to me to imply that these machines with the error are missing some required dll or other file(s); I have tried copying every possible file I think may be related, registering them if required, but to no avail.
Is there any other reason apart from a missing file that this error would be coming up? Do I need to "log on to a server" in my situation? (I currently am not, and I cannot seem to make that work if I try to either) Is there a definitive list available of absolutely ALL of the files required for this to work???
WHY???? WHY???? *frustrated wail*
I will start a cult to worship and adore anyone who can help me with this problem. Many thanks.
