Question

crystal export to excel format vs CSV format

Rating9.0Excellent

We are exporting a crystal report to an excel format and getting file size results of approx 35K for 60000 rows.  It is approx 40 columns wide.  When exporting to a CSV, the size is considerably smaller: 17K for 60000 rows.  Firstly, I don't know if the size of the excel file is excessive or is what would be expected out of excel.  Secondly, we would like to get a size of the excel file more around the CSV size to avoid some timeout issues and I'm wondering if there are any options we can set or ways to manage the columns in crystal to decrease the size without affecting the content greatly.

Thanks!
